Instead, I advocate a very different approach to applied social science called Participatory Acton Research (PAR). PAR produces “actionable” knowledge by focusing on individual situations rather than on statistical analysis of large samples or controlled experiments. All PAR knowledge is "situated." That means it is place- or case-specific.
