I've read several places that as long as you don't buy the oil labeled "energy saving" using motor oil for your bike should be just fine and it's about 1/2 the cost. The owners manual for the 1300C suggests replacing coolant at 24K. I took the advice of other members on this board and downloaded the service manual. You might consider that as well.
