Cylinder #8 on my 1972 304 refuses to fire. I have replaced the spark plug with several new plugs tested on other cylinders, replaced the spark plug wires and the coil. I have also checked the firing order. Must be the distributor cap and / or rotor as there must be no contact at the #8 wire.Flywheels and Bellhousings. The I6 is internally neutrally balanced. I will put #1 in it's firing position, take a picture or make a reference mark to something other then the distributor, remove the distributor, re position the distributor but keep the rotor is pointed to the reference, pull the wires and start the new #1 position.
