If the head and block are still good, it will be worth it. Putting the chevy motor in will probably DECREASE the value of the car if it is a nice car vs. rebuilding the current motor. May 3, 2019. #2. Neither will be easy as the cross member is wrong for a 6 cylinder engine and is welded in place. The 190e 2.6 has a bolt in cross member and would be a far easier proposition given it's designed for an M103 from the outset. Personally I'd keep it original and preserve its value and originality.
