Yes, I figured that the wiring of 4 conductors was for versatility of voltages (12 or 24). Ultimately, the batteries were wired in parallel for 12 VDC with the charger setup to charge them in parallel (but only if the trolling motor plug is plugged in to short the positives and negatives together). But, the trolling motor is a 24 VDC model.Unless you have a dedicated 24v battery charger you will need to use a 12v smart charger. This means you will be charging one 12v battery at a time.
