Much easier to rotate for field stripping over OEM. I haven't noticed any benefit for recoil control, but I do tend to have a rather firm grip. It does provide a convenient place to rest my support thumb.

Snap the takedown lever into place, then push down on the tail end and it should snap into place at the beavertail. Insert pin. Make sure MS is disengaged, lift the slide release and make sure the takedown lever is open. Make sure the internal trigger safety lever is down. ….

Takedown Lever won't move in disassembly A couple of weeks ago, I was changing out my grip module to a wilson combat one, which went more or less smoothly. But, my dumb a somehow lost the retention pin spring. So I ordered a new one and put the slide back in place while I waited for it to arrive.Holding this particular FCU in the 3 position while handling outside the grip frame is the answer. This takedown lever just moves more freely than ones from my other FCUs. But that does not matter If I hold it while swapping. SIG Certified P320 & P365 Armorer. 322, 365, 320, 226, 220, M400 ... whatever it takes.
The takedown lever should rotate down and when doing so pull the sear down with it so the slide clears it to install fully. The strut connected to the takedown lever should have a finger engaging the sear to pull it down when fully rotated. The 365 will joggle parts loose when removed from the grip unit, unlike the 320 which was designed to ...The Recoil Spring Assembly, RSA, came out of alignment somehow and was preventing the rotation of the takedown lever. I manipulated the RSA that was exposed while the slide was locked rearward. I was eventually able to rotate the takedown lever once the RSA was repositioned correctly. It only moves enough for me to hear it clicking against whatever is stopping it.
