Parvin E'tesami's poetry, it seems to me, enters into at least three sets of relations, each of which can be studied as a source of meaning. First, as a corpus of cultural texts produced by a woman in a highly patriarchal society, it inevitably participates in the male/female opposition as it is con-stituted in a tradition-bound patriarchal system. Parvin E’tesami, a famous Iranian poetess, was born on March 16, 1907 in Tabriz, and died on April 5, 1941. Parvin E’tesami was unique in her poetry. She chose not to offer her talent and poet to the kings and powerful, nor did she choose the superficial and populist romantic and lust poetry.
