Jaguar built more than 15,000 copies of the Series 3 E-type, so it’s common enough to be found today yet rare enough to still turn heads at a morning meetup. Terrific club support thanks to the Jaguar Clubs of North America and other groups. Initially, the Jaguar E-Type was not intended to be a replacement for the XK range. However, with the XK140 it was realised that the design, which dated from 1948, was looking a bit tired and an all-new car was the answer, but Jaguar did not have the funds to completely revise the XK shape for the future. In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Jaguar E-type, we launched the E-type 60 Collection – a limited-edition of six matched pairs. The foundations for this project are rooted in our E-type Reborn program and are an example of our fastidiously detailed restorations.
