About a week ago the yellow light for the pinch sensor started flashing rapidly. At first I was able to take the unit apart and use a soft brush to clean litter and dust out of the base and this would fix the problem. Vacuum out any litter on the top of the base Press the Pinch Detect bar on the left side of the waste port in about 10x to dislodge any debris on the pinch sensors. Reassemble, plug in and turn back on. Let me know if that works!
The pinch sensors are simple, just two metal leafs that separate when a pinch is detected. The leaves however can get out of alignment or can corrode and disintegrate. The yellow light flashing quickly is due to the anti-pinch feature. The Anti-Pinch safety feature is two pin connected to the motherboard that must touch each other continuously. If they are separated, you will have an alarm (yellow blinking light).
