Signal flow diagram
Signal flow refers to the path that electronic signals follow through the components of a PA system. This article is organized to follow that path from the input devices to the output devices and through all of the stages in between. The following diagram illustrates the signal flow through a typical sound system, as described in this article.A signal flow graph is usually obtained from the block diagram of the system. They can also be obtained directly from the system equations, but for now we shall stick with the former approach. We shall follow a few rules while trying to obtain a SFG from a block diagram of a system.Fig. 5.15 A block diagram with specific gain values 5.2 Signal-Flow Graphs An alternate graphical representation of systems is the signal-flow graphs (SFGs). SFG consists of nodes (representing signals) and branches (representing systems). Branches are labeled with transfer functions. The signal-flow direction is indicated by arrows.
