But the M11-A1 is a throwback model to the P228, which had the same grips. Looks great and grip is fine.

The first point of interest was why they specified the 225. SIG’s 228 was offered in the same chambering, and is just as compact, but held a double column thirteen round magazine instead of a single column eight rounder. The M11-A1 has the P229-1 frame with the wider magazine well and takes the wider P229-1 magazines that have a mag body like the .40/.357 mags. Assuming the P229R E2 is 9mm, then it most likely also has the P229-1 frame.
