Recently bought my FJ and the stock sound system is terrible! I wasn't impressed, I was expecting more power from the monster's in the doors!:smile I went to CrutchField and put all my info in, the only thing I'm unsure of is the speaker sizes. Basically I threw all stock speakers in the trash, 6x9's in the doors with tacotunes 1" mounts(4ohm front),6.5" speakers in rear door area with wicked cas speaker pods(4ohm rear) plus sub and thats it and it rocks, imaging is not perfect but its very hard to tell. The rear pillar speaker wires are already there to tap into. 3.5" speakers fit fine in the dash and rear pillars. 6x9's can be mounted using the gutted factory speakers and mounting the new ones with the stock housings. I'm under the impression that the rear channels driver those speakers (I've got the non-upgraded stereo in my 2012 FJ), so I could replace them with full range 4ohm drivers.
