Nope, you can barricade doors/windows even with hammer/planks/nails in a bag/backpack/whatever. The character will authomatically put them in their inventory and then proceed to barricade. OP issue is having the nails still in a box: items in boxes need to be manually unpacked to be used. 1. Measure the width and height of the window you want to barricade. 2. Cut two pieces of wood that are the same width and height as the window. Make sure they are strong enough to support the weight of the window frame, but still flexible enough to fit around the edges of the window. 3.
