This 601 Charles Daly is the second one I have owned. The first one was purchased about 25 years ago. It still works like a new gun, but, after dragging it through the woods for 20 years it is in need of refurbishing. The 601 field model "for the money" Is an Excellent shotgun. It has a rubbed finish on the wood that I believe to be Turkish walnut.No. Not for Citori money. Charles Daly never made a gun. It's a brand name, and some good guns, and not so good, have borne the name Charles Daly for a hundred years. The Japanese made over and under Charles Daly's were, I believe, made by Mirkoku,,,before Browning took over Miroku's importation of basically the same gun. The gun was the Citori.
