The Hull Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio was founded by Addis Emmet Hall in 1905. The company closed in 1986. Hull specialized in art pottery, kitchenware, florist's wares, and planters. In the 30s and 40s Hull used the foil labels on the lines that were not marked with incised or embossed labeling on the bottom. Even with signatures and markings on the bottom of Hull pieces they may be readable due to heavy layers of glaze over the incised marks and the embossed marked may be hard to read due to the use of old molds.Authentic Hull Pottery can be identified by its distinctive marks. Look for a capital “H” inside a circle or diamond shape, which is incised into the ceramic material.
